Objectives of the Activity
• To raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity and the potential risks and threats in the digital world.
• To educate participants about safe online practices, including password management, email security, and avoiding common online scams.
• To help participants recognize various types of cyber threats, such as phishing, malware, and social engineering attacks.
• To teach participants how to protect sensitive information and data, both on personal devices and in professional settings.
• To guide participants in using secure web browsing and email practices to minimize the risk of cyberattacks.
• To inform participants about securing their smartphones and tablets, as these devices are increasingly targeted by cybercriminals.
• To provide insights into how to secure social media accounts and be cautious about sharing personal information online.
Execution of Activity:
A token of Felicitation to our guest was done by Dr. Ipsita Swain.
Introduction of guest was done by Mr. Amey Todkar
Speaker discussed software and application security best practices, including keeping software up-to-date and recognizing potentially malicious applications. Speaker explored secure communication methods, including the use of encrypted messaging apps and email encryption. Speaker helped participants to understand the importance of network security, including securing home Wi-Fi networks and public Wi-Fi usage.
There was questions and answers session for open discussion. At the end vote of thanks was given by Dr. Ipsita Swain.
Outcomes
